Although the printer shows a blue solid wifi light, the IP address of the printer (192.168.1.16) is not alive on my network. So HP Smart App and cannot see it it and neither can print and scan doctor. Have now uninstalled software and removed printer but cannot reinstall software as HP Smart cannot see printer.

printer is a HP Envy 6000.
The problem was a fundamental network issue. The printer was not taking an IP address or even if the router shown it had allocated one, it never responded to a ping so neither HP Smart nor the Print and Scan doctor could find the printer.
I think I have fixed it. Its back online and staying online.
I have a BT wifi with 3 additional disks to provide complete wifi throughout my property. Unfortunately to work all 4 devices (The Router and 3 disks) shared the same SSID. I did get a message on one of the information sheets I can print directly from the printer that gave a warning about there being multiple devies with the same SSID.
So I turned off all the disks and restarted the computer and printer. I even deinstalled the printer but then I could not reinstall it using HP SMart - the program just hung.
I did however, install it using my phone.
I have now restarted all the disks and its still working OK. It now always respond to a ping.
So having multiple SSIDs of the same value was the cause I think.
