@DAB61, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Wi-Fi Connection Issues with HP Printers!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP printer is not being recognized by your Wi-Fi network, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Restart Devices

Restart your computer or mobile device, printer, and router to clear any error states.

  • Press the power button to turn off the printer. Disconnect the power cord if necessary.
  • Turn off the connected computer or mobile device.
  • Restart the router.
  • Reconnect the power cord to your printer and plug it directly into a wall outlet.
  • Turn on the computer or mobile device.
  • Ensure both the printer and device are connected to the same network.

2. Check the Printer and Network Connections

Ensure your printer is within range of the router, typically within 8 meters (26 feet). Check the Wireless light on the printer's control panel; if it's solid blue, the printer is connected to the network.

  • Check the network status on your computer or mobile device, and ensure it's connected to the correct network.
  • Avoid connecting to public or guest networks.

3. Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode

For printers with a touchscreen, access the Wireless or Setup menu and select "Restore Network Settings". For printers without a touchscreen, use buttons on the printer to restore Wi-Fi setup mode.

  • Return to the app or software within two hours to find and set up your printer.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
