Hi @JP338,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 4100 series printer is not connected to your Spectrum WiFi network, you can follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Check Printer Connection:

  • Make sure the printer is turned on and in a ready state.
  • Verify that the printer is within the range of your Spectrum WiFi network.

Restart Printer and Router:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 30 seconds.
  • While the printer is off, restart your Spectrum WiFi router.
  • Plug the printer back in, turn it on, and allow it to fully restart.

Verify WiFi Settings on Printer:

  • On the printer's control panel, navigate to the wireless or network settings.
  • Ensure that the WiFi network name (SSID) and password are correctly entered.

Reconnect to WiFi:

  • On the printer, initiate the wireless setup wizard or similar option to reconnect to your Spectrum WiFi network.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to select your WiFi network and enter the WiFi password.

Check WiFi Signal Strength:

  • Ensure that the printer is within the range of your WiFi signal. If it's too far away, the connection might be weak.

Static IP Address:

  • Since you've mentioned the printer's IP address is 192.168.0.5, confirm that this IP address is within the range of your Spectrum router's DHCP settings.
  • Alternatively, set the printer to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP).

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Visit the HP official website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. If so, download and install the updates.

Check Spectrum WiFi Connection:

  • Ensure that other devices can connect to your Spectrum WiFi network without any issues. If other devices are also experiencing problems, there might be an issue with your Spectrum WiFi.

Security Settings:

  • Double-check that your Spectrum WiFi network is using WPA or WPA2 security. Some printers might have difficulty connecting to open or WEP-secured networks.

Firewall and Security Software:

  • Temporarily disable any firewall or security software on your computer or router that might be blocking the printer connection.

Reset Network Settings on Printer:

  • If all else fails, you can try resetting the network settings on the printer and set up the connection again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
