Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you are experiencing issues with your HP DeskJet 2700 printer's Wi-Fi signal constantly blinking and the printer status showing as offline, follow these troubleshooting steps:

1. Update Printer Firmware

First, ensure that your printer firmware is up to date. Follow these steps to update it:

2. Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi Direct

To establish a Wi-Fi connection directly to your printer, follow these steps:

  • Print a Printer Information Page by pressing the Information button on your printer to acquire the Wi-Fi Direct name and password.
  • On your computer, click the Wireless icon and select Wi-Fi. Choose your printer (e.g., DIRECT-9F-HP DeskJet Plus 4100) from the network list and click Connect.
  • Enter the Wi-Fi Direct password when prompted.

3. Restart Devices

Restart your computer, mobile device, printer, and router to clear any error states:

  • Turn off the printer using the Power button. Disconnect the power cord if necessary.
  • Restart your computer or mobile device.
  • Restart the router.
  • Reconnect the printer's power cord to a wall outlet and turn it back on.

4. Check Printer and Network Connections

Ensure your printer and computer/mobile device are connected to the correct network:

  • Move the printer closer to the router to improve signal strength.
  • Ensure the Wireless light on the printer is solid blue, indicating a connection.
  • Check the network status on your computer or mobile device.

5. Run Diagnose & Fix Tool

Use the HP app's Diagnose & Fix tool to address connection issues:

  • Download and open the HP app.
  • Select your printer and click on Diagnose & Fix. Follow the instructions to resolve any issues found.

6. Re-add the Printer in the HP App

Remove and re-add your printer in the HP app to refresh the connection:

  • Ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer or with a USB cable.
  • Remove the printer from the HP app and then re-add it.
