HP 8080 printer. Cannot reconnect to Wi-Fi network. It has been connected but lost connection and I am trying to reinstall. I have tried everything but removing and reinstalling the printer. I would do that but cannot see a way to do it.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi @dougleeds,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Reconnecting your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 All-In-One Printer to a Wi-Fi network can be done by following a series of steps.
Here's a general guide to help you with the process:
Prepare for Reconnection:
- Make sure your printer is turned on and in a ready state.
- Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is functioning correctly, and you have the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password (network key).
Access the Printer's Control Panel:
- On the printer's control panel, press the "Home" button to access the main menu.
Navigate to Wireless Setup:
- Use the touch screen or arrow buttons to navigate to the "Wireless" or "Network" menu.
Select Wireless Setup Wizard:
- Look for an option like "Wireless Setup Wizard" or "Wi-Fi Setup" and select it. This option helps you set up a new Wi-Fi connection.
Choose Your Network:
- The printer will search for available Wi-Fi networks. When your network is displayed, select it.
Enter Network Password:
- If prompted, enter the Wi-Fi network password (network key). Be cautious with upper and lower case letters as they are case-sensitive.
Connect to the Network:
- Confirm the settings and select "Connect," "OK," or a similar option. The printer should attempt to connect to the network.
Test the Connection:
- Once connected, print a network configuration page or test page to ensure that the printer is successfully connected to the Wi-Fi network.
If these steps don't work, or if you have already tried them, you can also try the following additional troubleshooting steps:
Restart Your Router: Sometimes, network issues can be resolved by restarting your Wi-Fi router or modem.
Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually find firmware update options in the printer's settings menu or on the HP website.
Reinstall Printer Software (Optional): If you've exhausted all other options and the printer still won't connect, you may consider uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer software on your computer. This process can vary depending on your computer's operating system.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
