Hi @Karen0722,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 All-In-One printer always shows as offline, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take to fix it.
- Check the printer's connectivity: Make sure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it is connected via USB, check that the USB cable is properly plugged in. If it is connected to a network, ensure that the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
- Restart the printer: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can often resolve connectivity issues.
- Check the printer's status: On your computer, go to the "Devices and Printers" section and check the status of your printer. If it says "Offline," right-click on the printer and select "Use Printer Online."
- Update the printer driver: Visit the HP website and download the latest printer driver for your OfficeJet Pro 6968. Install the driver and restart your computer.
- Disable any firewall or antivirus software: Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can block the printer's connection to your computer. Try disabling these programs temporarily and see if the printer comes back online.
- Reset the printer: If none of the above steps work, try resetting the printer to its default settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
