Hi @SOCCERCOACH1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP printer is showing offline. It generally indicates connectivity or configuration issues. Follow the steps below to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

Step 1: Restart Devices

  • Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer by pressing the power button. If it doesn't turn off, unplug it from the power source.

  • Restart your Computer or Mobile Device: Power off and then on again.

  • Restart your Router (if using a network connection): Reboot your router by unplugging it, waiting for 10 seconds, and then plugging it back in.

Step 2: Check Printer and Network Connections

  • Wi-Fi Network: Ensure the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
    • Check the Wireless Light: It should be a solid blue if connected.
    • Reconfirm that your computer or mobile device is connected to the same network as your printer.

  • Wired Network (Ethernet): Ensure the Ethernet cable is connected to both the printer and the router.

  • USB Connection: If connecting via USB, ensure the cable is securely connected and not damaged.

Step 3: Set Your Printer as Default (Windows)

  • Open Printers & Scanners from your computer's settings.
  • Find your printer in the list, click Manage, and select Set as Default.

Step 4: Remove and Re-add the Printer

  • For Windows: Use Printers & Scanners settings to remove the device, then add it again.
  • For Mac: Use the Printers & Scanners utility to remove and then re-add.

Troubleshoot HP printer offline issues by restarting devices and checking connections.

Step 5: Check for Update or Run Diagnostics

  • Update Printer Firmware: Ensure your printer firmware is up to date by checking via your printer's control panel or Official HP® Support.

  • Run Diagnose & Fix Tool: Use the HP app on Windows or macOS to diagnose and automatically fix the issue.

For more detailed steps, refer to HP printer is offline or unavailable.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
