HP INK TANK WIRELESS 415
macOS 10.14 Mojave

I have installed my printer a while ago and moved it to another place with a different wifi network. I want to connect it to the network but when trying to do it via HP Smart app, it always ask for the printer admin password. Which I can't remember.

I even can't remember that I created such password before.

I need your help by telling me how to reset this password.

@Pati2021, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are trying to connect the printer to a wireless network.

If you are not aware of the EWS page password, do not use the HP Smart app. Use WPS method, refer to - Connecting an HP Printer Using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)

  • Make sure the printer and the Mac are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.

Once connected, install the printer using the Airprint driver

1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.

3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.

4.) Click the plus sign click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.

5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.

Note: Select "Bonjour multifunction" under kind while installing.

Try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
