Hi @yifat_1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with such an unpredictable printer. Here are a few troubleshooting steps that might help resolve the issue where your HP printer shows "ready" but is not printing:

  • Check the Print Queue: Make sure there are no stuck print jobs in the queue. You can view this by going to the 'Printers & Scanners' settings on your computer. If there are jobs stuck, try canceling them and sending a new print command.
  • Restart Everything: Sometimes, simply restarting your printer, computer, and router can resolve communication issues. Turn off your printer and computer, restart your router, and after it's back up, restart your computer and printer.
  • Printer Software and Drivers: Ensure that your printer’s software and drivers are up-to-date. Visit the HP website, find your printer model, and check for the latest software and driver updates.
  • Check Printer Settings: Sometimes, printers may be set to 'offline' mode in your computer settings. Check to make sure your printer is set to 'online'. This can be done from the 'Printers & Scanners' settings on your computer.
  • Network Configuration: Even if your printer is connected to WiFi, it might not be configured correctly. Print a Network Configuration Page directly from the printer control panel (usually found under the network settings or reports menus) and check the IP address. Ensure it matches the network settings of your computer and router.
  • Wireless Signal Strength: If the printer is far from the router, the signal might be weak, which can cause intermittent printing issues. Try moving the printer closer to the router or using a stronger WiFi band if available (5 GHz instead of 2.4 GHz).
  • Firewall or Security Software: Sometimes, firewall settings on your computer or network can block communication with your printer. Check your firewall settings to ensure they are not preventing your printer from communicating with your computer.
  • Print Directly from a Different Device: Try printing from a different computer or a mobile device to determine if the issue is with the original computer. This can help isolate the problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
