I have spent most of today doing something I thought would be simple. I have changed wifi and simply want to connect my HP 4122e deskjet to the new wifi. Can't be done. I have entered PIN number keys numbers, turned things off and on. I keep getting messages saying can't connect. I am almost next to the printer. The blue wifi light on the printer is flashing. I am at my wits end and furious with HP for making a simple job so, so difficulty.

Hi @Melanie93
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Not to worry, I'll do my best to reconnect the printer to your wireless network.
Let us try to restore the printer to the default network settings, and then use the HP Smart App from your mobile device to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Step 1:
Restore network default settings on the printer; to do that, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons until the Power button flashes, and then wait for the Wireless light to flash.
Step 2:
Uninstall and re-install the HP Smart app on your mobile device.
Place the printer and the mobile device near the Wi-Fi router.
Turn on Wi-Fi on your mobile device and connect to your network.
Enable Bluetooth on the mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.
After installing HP Smart for iOS and Android, enable the mobile device location service and allow the app to use your location to detect the printer and offer solutions during setup.
In HP Smart, click Add Printer or the plus sign to search for the printer, and then follow the instructions to complete the setup.

Thanks for your reply. I did try all of that. I have sorted it out now, but only after downloading the HP app onto my phone for a 3 day free trial. That was the only place where it was possible for me to alter the wifi password for the printer. I had to go through sending something to print and there were instructions that I could follow to update the wifi password. Thanks for replying.

You are Welcome!
I'm glad to hear you found a solution, even if it took a bit of an unexpected route!
It’s interesting that the HP app was the only way to update the Wi-Fi password—not exactly the most intuitive method. Hopefully, now that your printer is connected, things will run smoothly from here.
If you ever run into Wi-Fi issues with the printer again, feel free to reach out. I appreciate you sharing what worked—it might help others in the same situation! 🚀
Take care, and stay fantastic!
Regards,
Hawks_Eye
