Hi @tomk11111,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thank you for reaching out to HP Support. We understand how frustrating it can be when your HP LaserJet MFP M140w printer is not functioning over Wi-Fi as expected, especially when you rely on it for everyday tasks. We’re here to help.
We appreciate you sharing that you’ve attempted troubleshooting and are having difficulty with wireless connectivity. Please know that this model supports only 2.4 GHz wireless networks. If your router is dual-band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), we recommend ensuring that the 2.4 GHz band is enabled and visible separately, as the printer cannot connect to 5 GHz networks.
To assist you further, please try the following:
1. Restore Wireless Settings
- Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons on the printer for 10 seconds.
- This will reset the wireless configuration.
2. Reconfigure Wireless via HP Smart App
- Open the HP Smart app and select “Set up a new printer.”
- Follow the prompts to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
- Ensure you're connecting to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
3. Firmware Update (Optional)
- If possible, connect the printer via USB to your computer.
- Visit our HP Software & Driver Downloads page and enter your printer model.
- Download and run the firmware update utility.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
