Hi @1s-sMonty

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand the issue. Since your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301fdw prints local/offline documents successfully but does not print content from online sources (such as web pages, PDFs opened in a browser, or cloud-based documents), the printer hardware is working and the focus should be on the Windows printing path, browser, or print service communication.

Please try the following recommended checks:

Confirm the printer is set as the default printer

  • Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Select the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301fdw.
  • Ensure it is set as the default printer.

Test printing from a different browser

  • If the issue occurs in Microsoft Edge, try printing the same online document from another browser.
  • This helps determine whether the issue is browser-related.

Print a web page as PDF first

  • From the online document or webpage, choose Print > Microsoft Print to PDF.
  • Save the PDF locally.
  • Open the saved PDF and print it to the HP printer.

Restart the Windows Print Spooler

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Locate Print Spooler.
  • Right-click and select Restart.

Remove and re-add the printer

  • In Printers & scanners, remove the HP printer.
  • Restart the computer.
  • Add the printer again and allow Windows to install the latest driver.

Install the latest full-feature HP software

  • Download and install the latest HP software package for the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301fdw from HP Support.
  • This ensures browser and application printing components are properly installed.

Check if the issue is specific to certain online content

  • Test printing:
    • A normal webpage
    • A PDF opened in a browser
    • A Microsoft Word online document
  • Note whether all online documents fail or only a specific type.

To help narrow this down further, please let us know:

  • Which browser you are using (Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox, etc.)?
  • What happens when you try to print online content: nothing happens, an error appears, or the job stays in the print queue?
  • Can you print PDFs saved locally without any issue?

Take care, and have an amazing day!
