@flapjackss, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 is stuck thinking it's connected via Ethernet rather than trying to connect wirelessly. Let's work through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.

Reset Network Settings on Printer

Sometimes, resetting the network settings can help the printer forget its previous settings and allow you to start fresh.

Turn on the printer.

On the printer’s control panel, go to the "Setup" menu (usually represented by a wrench or gear icon).

Navigate to “Network” or “Wireless Settings.”

Find an option like “Restore Network Defaults” or “Reset Network Settings” and select it. This will remove any existing network configurations, including Ethernet, and reset the wireless network settings to default.

Once done, the printer should be ready to set up a wireless connection again.

Connect to Wi-Fi

After resetting the network settings, follow these steps to reconnect to your wireless network:

On the printer's control panel, go back to Network Settings or Wireless Setup.

Select "Wireless Setup Wizard". The printer will search for available Wi-Fi networks.

Choose your Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the Wi-Fi password when prompted.

If you don’t see the wireless setup option or it’s still not working, try the next step.

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

Check Router Settings

Verify your router settings and make sure that:

The Wi-Fi is enabled and is broadcasting the network.

There’s no MAC address filtering enabled on the router that could prevent the printer from connecting.

The router is using a 2.4GHz network.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
