Hi,

My 7510e is not waking up when a print job is sent to it.

I never turn it off as I send to it from my ipad.

However if I send a print job to it from either my Laptop of desktoop, the printer icon in "Devices and Printers" is greyed out, saying "Status off line""Not connected".

For some reason, there are 2 entries for the same printer:

"HP Photosmart 7510 series (Network)" & "HPDDF980 (HP Photosmart 7510 series)

At present (having just switched the printer Off then on, The "HP Photosmart...." (set as default) is saying it's on line (icon black) but the "HPDDF..." is greyed out (off line and not connected).

 

There appears to be no software update, and the same issue shows on both Desktop & Laptop (eliminating it being a PC issue.

 

Is it because the printer is not brand new ?

 

Surely it should work as designed?

 

Any ide how I can fix this? or - (because I'm sure this will be suggested) how to COMPLETELY WIPE ALL TRACES OF THE PRINTER OFF MY PC and how to reload the printer drivers from scratch - in effect reinstalling everything.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

 

Perform a clean reinstallation of pre-installed HP drivers

  1.  In Windows, search for and open Programs and features 
  2.  Select your HP Printer 
  3.  Select Uninstall 
  4.  In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers 
  5.  In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’ 
  6.  Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo. 
  7.  Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”) 
  8.  Click on the “Drivers” tab 
  9.  Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom 
  10.  Select Ok 
  11.  Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows 
  12.  Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Try printing.

I decided to remove and reinstall as per your instructions, and since doing this, I had no issues with the Printer going Off Line.

 

As a check, I have since run the "Print & Scan Doctor", and there were no issue (all green ticks).
