hp envy 5660 all in one printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My envy 5660 all in one keeps going offline .It is wireless. I have let the setup wizard set it up, even though it says it has already been done. It still come up offline. For it would still print. I wanted to scan, it can not find laptop. I can not setup with the cd because this laptop can not take it. I have gone to 123 hp.com to download it. When I click open file, it says that I need to put Windows in S mode or find a app in microsoft store, I can not find one. I am not to smart about these things, If I keep trying long enough I get it fixed. I have been playing  for 3 days off and on with this. The laptop is running Windows 10. I have tried unplug the print over night, to different time now , still the same thing. It was nice when I could use the 123 hp disk. I thought about using a old laptop, that I can use a disk and download it into this laptop, how would I do that. What is that thing you can plug into so I can download into, and how do I do that? Thank You so much pigsty

Ideas...

Reinstall the printer software

Printer Software Check

Notes

If the full driver printer software is installed, you will see the printer listed in Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features.

The installation of the printer software adds two shortcut icons to the Desktop.

The Printer Assistant is named for the printer and provides access to Print , Scan , and Tools

HP Scan is named for itself and provides a direct call to the HP Scan software.

Next...

If the printer software is already installed but not working.

Open Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features

Find, Left-click and Uninstall the printer software

Restart the computer and log in.

Your Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software is here:

HP ENVY 5660 e-All-in-One Printer Series Full Feature Software and Drivers

Download and save the installation package - do not yet install.

Preparation / Information

Before making any changes to your system, always create a Restore Point!

Stop / Exit all programs:  Browsers, games, Applications, etc.

Control Panel > icon view > System > System Protection

Click (Highlight) your main disk (C) > Select Create a Restore Point

OR

(As available)

Create a restore point now for the drives that have system protection turned on

Create

Apply or OK to exit the menu after the Restore Point is complete.

Windows Updates

Before you install / reinstall printer software, do check and run Windows Updates

Settings > Update and Security > Windows Updates

If you install any Windows Updates: After the update is installed, Restart the computer and log in.

NOTE:  If an update is already pending, install that update > Restart the computer and log in

Next

  • If using USB, disconnect the USB cable between the printer and the computer before starting the installation.  Connect the cable when instructed to do so (toward the end of the installation procedure).
  • If not done, Download and Save the printer installation package for the “Full driver

Next

  • Navigate to the folder in which you saved the software installation package (likely Downloads)
  • Right-Click on the downloaded package and "Run as Administrator" to start the installation
  • Reminder:  If using USB > Connect the USB cable when instructed (toward the end of the installation)
  • After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in

What else?

There are a couple of areas where the connection might be faltering (falling off the network).

One of these is how the printer is connected to the network.

IF you have a router that provides both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz,

Make sure the router is broadcasting on both frequencies.

This printer supports 2.4 GHZ -

Make sure the printer is connected to the named SSID network for the 2.4GHz band.
