I'm having trouble printing from my Dell Laptop 7706 2n1 to my hp 7600 smart Tank.  However, I can print with no problem from my Pixel 9 phone.  I was able to print before, but for some reason  no print from this computer.

Hi @Rob656,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you have an issue connecting the printer to the Pc here are a few troubleshooting steps to help your Dell 7706 2-in-1 print smoothly again from the HP Smart Tank 7600, especially since your Pixel 9 can print without issue:

1. Confirm Network Connectivity

Make sure both your Dell laptop and the printer are connected to the same Wi‑Fi network:

  • On the printer: Check that the Wireless light is solid blue; this confirms it’s on the network.
  • On your laptop: Go to Wi‑Fi settings and ensure you are connected to the same SSID as the printer.
  • Then, restart your laptop, printer, and Wi‑Fi router; this often clears network glitches.

2. Install or Reinstall HP Full-Feature Software

Ensure you have the correct HP drivers and software installed:

  1. Visit HP’s official driver page for the Smart Tank 7600 series:
HP Smart Tank 7600r series | HP® Support
  2. Choose your Windows version, download the Full Feature Software package (this includes print and scan support).
  3. Run the installer, and follow prompts to add your printer, ideally via wireless.
  4. Once installed, send a test print. Having the proper driver often resolves printing failures.

3. Add the Printer through Windows Settings

If reinstalling doesn’t fix it, manually add the printer:

  • Go to Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners
  • Click “Add device” → choose your HP Smart Tank 7600
  • Ensure the driver selected matches HP’s Full Feature driver during setup.

4. Clear the Print Queue & Reset Spooler (if needed)

Occasionally, jobs get stuck:

  • Go to Printers & scanners, select your 7600 → click Open queue → remove all jobs.
  • Restart the Print Spooler service:
    • Press Win + R, type services.msc → find Print Spooler → right-click → Restart.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
