HP ENVY Inspire 7921e All-in-One Printer
iOS

Impossible to print from my printer using hotspot only (Have no modem) from my iphone. I have an HP all in one, iPad and iphone.

However, if I can print only from my iphone and ipad, I'm happy (OS) but whatever I try, it doesn't work.

On my iphone, the HP smart app, says always 'unavailable' and when I try to connect the iphone via Bluetooth it never

shows up on my iphone. If I go into advance settings" no printer dedected".

Then I get a message on my printer warning me, that soon I'm unable to print.

If anybody can help, please, I thank you in advance.

Hi @Alphuettli,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing some frustration trying to print from your iPhone and iPad using only the hotspot feature. Let's see if we can troubleshoot this together.

First, let's make sure the basics are covered.

  1. Ensure that your printer (ENVY Inspire 7900e) is connected to your iPhone's hotspot network.
  2. Check if your iPhone and iPad are connected to the same hotspot network as your printer.

Now, let's try some troubleshooting steps:

  • Update HP Smart App: Make sure that the HP Smart App on your iPhone and iPad is updated to the latest version. Sometimes, older versions may have compatibility issues.
  • Restart Devices: Try restarting your printer, iPhone, and iPad. This can often resolve connectivity issues.
  • Forget and Reconnect to Hotspot: On your iPhone and iPad, forget the current hotspot network and reconnect to it again. This can refresh the connection and sometimes resolve connectivity issues.
  • Check Printer's Connection Status: On your printer, check if it is connected to your iPhone's hotspot network. You should see some indication on the printer's display or through its settings menu.
  • Bluetooth Connection: If your printer supports Bluetooth connectivity, try connecting your iPhone and iPad to the printer via Bluetooth. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on both devices and follow the pairing instructions provided by the printer's manual.
  • Reset Printer Network Settings: If all else fails, you can try resetting your printer's network settings. This will clear any existing network configurations and allow you to set it up again from scratch. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.

I hope one of these steps helps you resolve the issue and get your printer connected to your iPhone and iPad for printing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
