@leowalz, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP DeskJet 2755 is having trouble accepting your Wi-Fi password. Here’s are the steps to resolve the problem:
Step 1: Confirm 2.4 GHz and Password Simplicity
- Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz.
- Try connecting another 2.4 GHz device (like an old phone) using the same password to confirm it's correct.
- If your Wi-Fi password has special characters, temporarily change it to a simple password like 12345678 just for testing.
Step 2: Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode
- Press and hold the Wireless button 🛜 and the Cancel button ✖️ together for 5 seconds until the Power button starts blinking.
This resets the printer to Wi-Fi setup mode.
Step 3: Use the HP Smart App
- Install the HP Smart app on your phone or PC.
- Open it, click Add Printer, select Set Up a New Printer, and follow the prompts.
- The app simplifies the process compared to manually entering passwords via the printer panel.
Step 4: Check Router Settings (if nothing else works)
- Log into your router settings.
- Ensure:
- 2.4 GHz is enabled.
- Security is set to WPA2 (or WPA2/WPA3 mixed, not WPA3-only).
- The password does not contain unsupported symbols.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
