I have a problem with connecting the HP3525 printer to WIFI, I have tried every possible way. Through HP SMART applications, through WPS and still the printer does not want to connect. I printed the report and it shows the available network to which I want to connect. is there any way to connect it?

Hi @pyrka,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP 3525 printer isn’t connecting to Wi-Fi even after trying HP Smart and WPS. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Verify the Wi-Fi network type

The HP 3525 supports 2.4 GHz only.

If your router uses a combined 2.4/5 GHz SSID, split them or temporarily enable only 2.4 GHz.

Check the Wi-Fi password format

Make sure the password has no special characters the printer might not support.

Try entering it manually using the printer’s Wireless Setup Wizard.

Restart the printer and router

Power off the printer and unplug the router for 10–15 seconds.

Turn the router back on fully, then power on the printer and try reconnecting.

Move the printer closer to the router during setup

Weak signal during connection can cause repeated failures.

Try connecting within 1–2 meters of the router, then move the printer back.

Disable WPS temporarily and use Wireless Setup Wizard

On the printer control panel, open Setup → Network → Wireless Setup Wizard.

Select your network from the list and enter the password manually.

Check router settings that may block older printers

Disable MAC filtering if it’s enabled.

Ensure WPA2 Personal is the security mode (not WPA3-only).

Turn off “Access Point Isolation” if active.

Reset the printer’s network settings

On the printer, go to Setup → Network → Restore Network Defaults.

After the reset, try connecting again using the Wireless Setup Wizard.

Look for error details on the Wireless Network Test Report

If the report shows “Authentication Failed,” the password or security mode is the issue.

If it shows “Cannot Find Access Point,” the router may be set to 5 GHz only.

I hope this helps.
