HP Smart Tank 515 Wireless All-in-One

Hello, good morning everyone. I have a problem connecting the internet to my printer, from one moment to another the printer stopped receiving the wifi network connection and does not connect, I tried to reconnect the printer to the wifi network and does not work, I have restarted this device, the printer and the internet also, it seems that nothing works and I do not know how to fix it and I went to diagnostics and fix, but the hp application does not give me a diagnosis of the printer, I do not know what else to do, I saw tutorials, I followed the instructions of hp support and nothing works.

Hi @KONNY_LMC,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Smart Tank 515 Wireless All-in-One printer is having trouble connecting to your Wi-Fi network, here are several steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Check Wi-Fi Signal: Ensure that the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router. If possible, move the printer closer to the router to see if that helps.

Network Credentials: Double-check that you are entering the correct Wi-Fi password. Sometimes a small typo can prevent the connection.

Printer Reset:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.

Wi-Fi Direct Setup:

  • On the printer, go to the control panel and select Settings > Network > Wi-Fi Direct.
  • Ensure Wi-Fi Direct is enabled.
  • Connect your mobile device to the printer’s Wi-Fi Direct network (it should appear as an option in your Wi-Fi settings).
  • Try printing a page from your mobile device to see if the printer responds.

Reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  • Use the control panel on the printer to navigate to Settings > Network > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password again to reconnect.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check for any available firmware updates for your printer. You can do this through the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP support website.

Router Settings:

  • Ensure that the router’s firmware is up to date.
  • If you have a dual-band router, try connecting the printer to the 2.4 GHz band instead of the 5 GHz band, as some printers have better compatibility with 2.4 GHz.

Firewall/Security Settings:

  • Check your router’s firewall or security settings. Sometimes strict settings can block devices from connecting to the network.

Network Reset on Printer:

  • Perform a network reset on the printer. This option can usually be found under the Network settings in the printer's menu. It will erase all saved networks and allow you to start fresh.

Reinstall HP Smart App:

  • If you are using the HP Smart app for setup, consider uninstalling and reinstalling it, then try the setup process again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
