HP ENVY 6455e All-in-One Printer

I keep getting the "Something Went Wrong!" error when I try to send mobile faxes. The exact message I get says "Something Went Wrong! It seems that an error has occurred before the sending process. Please, try to send your fax again."

At first I just tried clicking the Try Again button, but it just sends me back to the same message. If I click the cancel fax it just sends me back to the dailing page. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling HP Smart. So far nothing has worked to fix this issue.

Hi @jtlgordon,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

The "Something Went Wrong!" error when trying to send mobile faxes from your HP ENVY 6455e All-In-One Printer can be caused by several factors, including network issues, software glitches, or configuration problems. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

1. Check Internet Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to a stable and strong Wi-Fi network.
  • Check if other devices on the same network are experiencing connectivity issues.

2. Restart Devices:

  • Restart your printer, mobile device, and router.
  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, plug it back in, and turn it on.
  • Restart your mobile device and router.

3. Update Printer Firmware:

  • Make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed.
  • Open the HP Smart app on your mobile device.
  • Go to the Printer Settings and check for firmware updates.
  • If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to install it.

4. Update the HP Smart App:

  • Ensure that you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your mobile device.
  • Visit the app store (Google Play Store for Android or App Store for iOS) and check for updates to the HP Smart app.

5. Check Mobile Fax Settings:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your mobile device.
  • Go to the Mobile Fax section and review the settings.
  • Make sure that all required fields are filled out correctly and that the recipient's fax number is accurate.

6. Reset the Mobile Fax Feature:

  • In the HP Smart app, go to Mobile Fax.
  • Look for an option to reset or reconfigure the mobile fax settings.
  • Follow the prompts to reset and set up the mobile fax feature again.

Clear App Cache (Android):

  • If you are using an Android device, clearing the app cache might help.
  • Go to Settings > Apps > HP Smart.
  • Select Storage and then Clear Cache.

8. Reinstall the HP Smart App:

  • If the problem persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart app.
  • Uninstall the app from your mobile device.
  • Restart your device and then reinstall the app from the app store.

9. Check HP Smart Services:

  • Sometimes, HP's online services might experience downtime or maintenance.
  • Visit the HP Support website to check if there are any known issues with HP Smart services.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, Contact HP phone Support for further help. Provide them with details of the error and the steps you have already taken.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
