Laserjet Pro MFP M29w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Trying to reconnect my Laserjet MFP M29 back onto my wireless network after installing a new router. Keep getting an error that says " "Your computer and device cannot communicate because they are connected to different wireless networks, different router or different subnet within the same network"  I've tried everything I can think of, resetting router, reinstalling the printer, entering IP address manually, using HP Direct, etc. The network printout from the printer shows that it IS connected to my wireless network but the HP Smart software can't detect it. ???

I figured it out!! My printer only connects to the 2.4G Band and my PCs are connected to the router via the 5Ghz Band!  Duh. This is because my new Comcast Xfinity XB7-T WiFi router combines both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz into one SSID and automatically manages the connections. So computers that have 5Ghz capable wi-fi cards are automatically assigned to the 5Ghz band. With my past routers I could chose to connect to either the 2.4G or 5G band, not so with this router.

An update to the 'Accepted Solution':

If you go into the Comcast Xfinity XB7-T routers management console via the routers IP address you CAN set different SSID's for the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands.  *Not so if using just the Xfinity App. So now I can connect the PCs needing wireless access to the printer to the 2.4Ghz band.  😊
