@Juliepb64, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
1. Check Date and Time on Printer
If the printer's date and time are not set correctly, SSL certificates may be treated as expired even if they are not. Make sure the printer’s date and time are correct:
Access the Printer’s Web Interface (using the printer's IP address):
- Open a browser and type the printer's IP address in the URL bar.
- Log in to the printer’s web interface (admin credentials required).
Check and Correct the Date/Time:
- Navigate to Settings > General Settings > Date and Time.
- Ensure that the date, time, and time zone are correct.
Reboot the Printer after adjusting the date/time to ensure the settings are applied.
2. Generate a New Self-Signed Certificate
If the certificate has expired and you’ve tried generating a self-signed certificate without success, try the following:
Option 1: Use the Printer's Web Interface to Create a New Certificate
Log into the Printer’s Web Interface:
- Type the printer's IP address in a web browser (you can find this on the printer display menu under Network > TCP/IP or Wi-Fi settings).
Go to the Security Settings:
- In the web interface, navigate to Security > Certificates or Web Services (this may vary depending on the printer’s firmware version).
Generate a New Self-Signed Certificate:
- You may have an option to create or renew a certificate directly from this interface.
- Follow the prompts to generate a new self-signed certificate.
- Once generated, restart the printer.
