Hi @barson43,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've forgotten or don't know the password for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-In-One Printer, you will need to perform a factory reset to reset the printer's settings, including the password. Please note that this will erase any custom settings you have configured on the printer. Here's how you can perform a factory reset.

Note: Before proceeding with a factory reset, make sure to back up any important settings or information if possible, as this process will restore the printer to its default settings.

  1. Turn on the printer if it's not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is in an idle state (not printing or copying).
  3. Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds, or until the Power light starts blinking. This initiates the printer's factory reset process.

The printer will reset and restart. Once it completes the reset, it will return to its default settings, including the default password.

The default username and password for most HP printers are as follows:

  • Username: admin
  • Password: admin

After the reset, you should be able to use "Scan and Print Doctor" with the default admin credentials. However, I recommend changing the password to something more secure after the reset to protect your printer from unauthorized access. You can typically change the password through the printer's web interface or settings menu.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello:

Thank you for the prompt reply.  I spoke to support Friday and they advised me to hit 'cancel' at this prompt.  Seems like a very poor design, particularly to not have this in the instructions, but it also seemed to work.  FYI, this printer is brand new and I am setting it up for the first time.  Thank you again and have a good day.
