Hi @Steveb56

Welcome to the HP Support Community! Thanks for posting your query!

We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for reaching out—I'm here to help you get scanning working again. Since your printer is able to copy and print from your computer, that tells us the hardware and basic connection are functional, which is a great start.

To better understand and isolate the issue, could you please share a few details:

  1. Printer model – Which HP printer are you using?
  2. Connection type – Are you connected via USB, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet?
  3. Operating system – Are you using Windows 10, Windows 11, or macOS?
  4. Scan method – Are you trying to scan using the HP App, Windows Scan, or another program?
  5. Error behavior – What exactly happens when you try to scan? Do you see an error message, or does the scan just not start?
  6. Recent changes – Have there been any recent updates to your operating system, printer software, or network?

Once I have this information, I’ll guide you through the most relevant steps to restore scanning.

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
