PRINTER STOPED PRINTING AND SETTING SAYS PRINTER ERROR. TRIED RELOADING DRIVER MULTIPLE TIMES AND SO I GAVE UP AND BROUGHT ANOTHER HP2800E, SAME PROBLEM. BOTH PRINTERS CAN SCAN, SO THE PRINTERS ARE TALKING TO
THE COMPUTER. SCAN DOCTOR FINDS THE PRINTERS BUT WILL NOT COMMUNICATE WITH NEIGHTER. EVEN BETTER PUT THE APP ON MY IPHONE AND THE SAME THING. AND SPENT SIX HOURS PLAYING WITH PROBLEM NO CLUE.

@CUBSbaseball, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like there might be a deeper issue affecting both your HP DeskJet 2855e and HP 2800e printers, especially since they can scan but not print. Here are some potential causes and fixes you can try:
Check Windows Print Spooler
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
- Scroll down to find Print Spooler.
- Right-click on it and select Restart.
- Try printing again.
Disable ‘Use Printer Offline’
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click Open queue.
- In the menu, click Printer and ensure Use Printer Offline is NOT checked.
Set the Printer as Default
- Navigate to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer and select Set as default printer.
- Attempt to print again.
Reset Printing System on Windows
- Open Command Prompt (Admin) and run these commands one by one:
net stop spooler
del %systemroot%\System32\spool\printers\* /Q
net start spooler
- Restart your PC and test printing.
Check Firewall & Security Software
- Temporarily disable any third-party antivirus or firewall and try printing.
- If it works, make sure to whitelist HP-related processes in your security software.
Reinstall HP Smart & Drivers (Clean Install)
- Uninstall all HP software and drivers from Settings > Apps.
- Restart your computer.
- Download the latest HP Smart and drivers from HP website.
- Install and set up the printer again.
Try a Different Connection
- If you are using Wi-Fi, try connecting via USB, and vice versa.
- If you are on a specific network (like Airtel Wi-Fi), some users have reported issues with HP printers. Consider trying a mobile hotspot or another network.
Perform a Factory Reset on the Printer
- Turn off the printer.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi and Cancel (X) buttons.
- Keep holding them while turning the printer back on.
- Wait for the reset process to complete, then try setting it up again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
