HP Smart Tank 7305 All-in-One
macOS 12.0 Monterey

Got a BT hub, brand new iMac, and a HP Smart Tank printer which is barely 3 months old. This should be a great set-up but the printer is driving me up the wall by constantly going into sleep mode (actually better described as coma mode) even if I've only printed something else a few minutes earlier. If I don't remember to get up and go to the printer to press the power button (to wake it up) before I select print, I'm in trouble - and it will take me anything from 3 to 15 mins messing about before I can get any printed output.  Tried looking at the printer settings on the HP Smart app but can't alter the time delay for sleep as it's locked by HP for  'energy saving' (clearly not my energy though).  I expect a printer to be simple to set up and operate, if it does go to sleep that's ok as long as it wakes up to print things for me. Why is it so difficult to make something that works - and if it doesn't, it's easy to diagnose the problem and rectify? Why is the printer constantly dropping its connection to the Wi-Fi when signal strength is excellent and none of the other things connected to it do ? I'm so fed up with seeing 'searching for printer' message on the print queue and regret buying it (more trouble than it's worth). Does anyone have an EASY solution to enable me to solve this problem please .... if I can't sort it out soon I'll be forced to ditch it and get one made by another manufacturer.
