Common problems for Connectivity Issues

HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 All-in-One Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

Three HP WiFi printers regularly went OFF LINE without any activity on my Apple devices and my NetGear R6220 router.  I solved the problem by

  1. locate and record the IP address for each printer
  2. remove all printers from the Apple Dock and Menu Bar
  3. removing all printers from the "Printers & Scanners" in the Apple System Preferences.
  4. Add each printer back in Printers & Scanners using the IP address and not the HP product name as listed in the suggested printer listings.

The best guess is that there is an HP software problem in the HP Smart app and the Drivers for the HP printers printing from an APPLE device.  The problem did not exist when using an HP laptop w/ Windows 10.  Documents printed from the HP Laptop while the printers were showing OFF LINE on the Apple devices.   Using WiFi there are no loose wire issued because the only wires are the AC power to each device.   FYI I have a Desk Jet 3700, LaserJet M203 & Office Jet Pro 6968 along with a MacBookAir running Monterey, a MacBook running BigSur and iPads & iPhones
