I am having trouble printing documents from computer to HP Printer 7800.  Wireless check says everything is Ok.  I've turned off, disconnected electric plug, let it sit for about 15 minutes, turned on and when I try to print, it doesn't list my printer as an option to print to.  Need instructions to get this fixed.

If your HP Envy Photo 7830 printer is not appearing as an option when you try to print from your computer, here are steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Printer Connection:

  • Print a Wireless Network Test Report from the printer's control panel to confirm it is connected to your Wi-Fi network:
    • On the Wireless Network Test Report, find the printer’s IP address. Ensure it matches the network you are using.

2. Restart Devices

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on
    • Restart your router to refresh the network connection.:Restart your computer to reset the network connection.

3. Add Printer to Windows

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners:
    • Click on Add a printer or scanner. Wait for Windows to search for available printers.If your printer appears, select it and follow the prompts to add it.If your printer does not appear, click on The printer that I want isn’t listed.
    • Select Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname.Enter the IP address from the Wireless Network Test Report and follow the prompts to add the printer.

4. Update Printer Drivers

  • Visit the HP Support page and search for your printer model.Download the latest drivers and software for your printer.:
    • Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers.

5. Check Printer Status:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Select your HP Envy Photo 7830 printer and click Set as default.
    • Open the printer queue (right-click on the printer and select See what’s printing).Cancel any stuck print jobs.

6. Verify Network Settings:

  • Verify that your network allows device discovery and communication.

7. Use HP Smart App

  • Install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store:
    • Open the app and follow the instructions to add your printer.

8. Firewall and Security Softwares:

  • Ensure that your firewall or security software is not blocking the printer connection
    • Add exceptions for your printer software in your firewall or security software settings.
