Hi @Garethzinger,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY 6455e All-in-One Printer not connecting to WiFi and showing as offline, try the following steps:
Check WiFi Connection:
- Ensure your WiFi network is working properly by connecting other devices (e.g., smartphone, laptop) to it.
- Verify that the WiFi signal is strong where the printer is located.
Restart Devices:
- Turn off your printer, router, and computer.
- Wait for about 30 seconds.
- Turn on the router first and wait for it to fully initialize.
- Turn on your printer and then your computer.
Printer Network Reset:
- On the printer, press the Wireless button and the Cancel button simultaneously, and hold them for 5 seconds until the Power button blinks. This will reset the wireless settings.
- Reconnect the printer to your WiFi network using the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel.
Use HP Smart App:
- Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or smartphone if you haven't already.
- Open the app and follow the instructions to add your printer and connect it to your WiFi network.
Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can do this through the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP Support website.
Check Network Settings:
- Make sure your router is not set to a mode that the printer does not support (e.g., dual-band routers should be set to 2.4 GHz, as some printers do not support 5 GHz).
- Ensure there are no MAC address filtering settings on your router that could block the printer from connecting.
Disable VPN and Firewall:
- Temporarily disable any VPN or firewall software on your computer that might be interfering with the printer's connection.
Assign Static IP Address:
- Assign a static IP address to the printer through your router's settings. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.
