Have you registered your purchase with HP? If not, then using the online warranty lookup tool is going to show the default warranty applied at the factory when the unit is manufactured. That default warranty is 1 year plus 3 months to account for shipping and sales. In some cases with slow moving products, it may take a year for the product to sell after it is manufactured. In that case it would show a warranty of only 3 months. I have run into products that are nearly 2 years old when sold. Once you register your product, the warranty will be updated to show one year from your date of purchase. Go to support.hp.com and look for the register your product link.
