Hi @Niki-Ro

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that your HP printer won't connect,To resolve your HP DeskJet 3720 printer's Wi-Fi connection issue, especially after restarting an Instant Ink contract, you can follow these steps:

I would request you to please follow the steps:

Restart Devices

  • Power off your printer, router, and computer.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Turn on the router first, then the printer, then your computer.
  • This refreshes the network handshake between devices.

Update Printer Network Settings

  • On the printer’s control panel, tap the Wireless icon.
  • Go to Settings → Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Select your new Wi‑Fi network from the list.
  • Enter the Wi‑Fi password carefully.
  • Confirm connection — the wireless light should turn solid blue.

Reinstall Printer Software

  • On your computer, uninstall old HP printer software.
  • Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
  • Search for your printer model (e.g., DeskJet, OfficeJet, LaserJet).
  • Download and install the latest drivers.
  • Follow prompts to add the printer to your system.

Reset Network Settings

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Network Setup → Restore Network Settings.
  • This clears old Wi‑Fi details.
  • Run the Wireless Setup Wizard again to connect fresh.

Router Configuration

  • Ensure your printer connects to the 2.4 GHz band (HP printers often don’t support 5 GHz).
  • If your router broadcasts separate SSIDs for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, select the 2.4 GHz one.
  • Check firewall/security settings to ensure the printer is allowed to connect.
  • If WPA3 security is enabled, switch to WPA2 — many printers don’t support WPA3.

Update Instant Ink and Cartridges

Instant Ink Account:

  • Log in to your HP Instant Ink account and check if your printer is still listed.
  • If not, you may need to re-register the printer through the HP Instant Ink website.

Reinstall Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the cartridge access door, remove the cartridges, and reinstall them to ensure they are placed correctly.
  • Close the door and wait for any alignment processes to complete.

Use HP App

Hope this helps, Please revert if the issue persists.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
