It is likely the printer is waking up from sleep and getting a different IP address from the modem.
If the printer keeps changing it's IP address then a change to the modem mays be necessary. If you have a flex system (multiple WiFi boosters / repeaters) then the printer needs to be assigned a fixed IP address. This is done in the modem as part of DHCP configuration. Let me know if this is the case.

First see if you can disable sleep on the printer

. Access the printers embedded web page and set sleep to off or never.

Some printers do not allow sleep to be disabled.

I have very little experience with MacOS.  If you know how to program your MacOS with the hostname of the printer instead of the IP address then that can solve the problem since the hostname never changes.

For example the hostname of my HP LJ is NPI40CB07.attlocal.net and that does not change regardless of the IP address the modem has for NPI40CB07.attlocal.net

I can give you an example of setting a fixed IP address on an Arris modem if you want to go that route.
