@ColMatt, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Some special characters like the caret symbol (^) may not appear directly on the HP Smart Tank 7602's touchscreen keyboard during Wi-Fi setup. Here's how you can work around this:

Option 1: Use the HP Smart App for Wi-Fi Setup

The easiest way to enter complex Wi-Fi passwords (including special characters like ^) is by using the HP Smart App/HP App on your smartphone or computer.

Steps:

Download the HP Smart App:

Connect your smartphone or PC to the same Wi-Fi network you want the printer to join.

Open the HP Smart App and tap the "+" icon to add your printer.

The app will guide you through the setup process, including entering your Wi-Fi password. Here, you can use your device’s full keyboard to enter the ^ symbol and any other special characters.

Once setup is complete, your printer will be connected to your home network.

Option 2: Use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)

If your router supports WPS, you can connect the printer without entering the password manually.

Steps:

  1. On your printer, go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings > Wi-Fi Protected Setup.
  2. Choose Push Button.
  3. Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.
  4. The printer should connect automatically.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
