I purchased the HP 2755e about a month ago as I finished converting my HP laptop from Win10 to Ubuntu 22.04 (First problem-little in-depth experience with Linux.)  In going through the HP setup, I discovered that HP 2755e doesn't have a WiFi driver for Ubuntu 22.04.  However, WiFi Direct apparently should work with the printer and laptop.

I physically set up the printer about 2 ft. from the laptop, turn it on, press the WiFi button and it blinks,  Read some more, then press and hold the WiFi button and the Cancel button until the power button blinks.   Go to laptop and see "HP=Setup<1A_DeskJet 2700 series" as a WiFi connection.  Select that and the printer's blue light keeps on blinking (no connection).  What have I done wrong or not done?

By the way, I don't have a fixed router.  My internet is via a Verizon hotspot which sometimes complicates WiFi connection and is the reason I ignored the phone.
