Hi @Emet26,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your device needs to switch from an old Wi-Fi network to a new one. Let’s go through a few steps to make sure the transition is done correctly and avoids connection issues.

Verify the new Wi-Fi network is active
Ensure the new router/modem is powered on and broadcasting a network name (SSID).
Keep the correct Wi-Fi password available before proceeding.

Disconnect from the old Wi-Fi network
Open the Wi-Fi settings on the device and select the currently connected (old) network.
Choose Disconnect or Forget to prevent automatic reconnection.

Forget the old Wi-Fi network (recommended)
In Wi-Fi or Network settings, locate Manage known networks or saved networks.
Select the old Wi-Fi name and choose Forget/Remove.

Connect to the new Wi-Fi network
From the list of available networks, select the new Wi-Fi name.
Enter the password carefully and confirm the connection.

Confirm internet access
Once connected, check that the Wi-Fi status shows “Connected”.
Open a browser or app to verify internet access.

Restart the device if the connection is unstable
Restarting refreshes network services and clears cached settings.
After restart, confirm the device reconnects to the new Wi-Fi automatically.

Restart the router if needed
If the device connects but has no internet, restart the new router.
Wait 1–2 minutes for the connection to stabilize, then test again.

Update Wi-Fi settings on connected devices (printers, smart devices)
Printers and smart devices do not switch automatically.
Use their setup menu or app to change Wi-Fi to the new network.

I hope this helps.
