will 110v HP printer work with 220v

Will my USA 110 volt officejet printer work in another country that uses 220 v without an adapter--if not what size voltage adapter will I need?

If you connect your 110v printer directly into a 220v supply, there will be a flash, a loud bang, and possibly some smoke, and your printer will never work again.

If the mains goes straight into your printer, you need to get a 220v-to-110v transformer which can output enough current for your printer. Look at the labels on your printer to see if it mentions a number followed by an 'A' or by 'Amps' - your transformer will need to output at least that amount of amps. It doesn't matter if the transformer outputs more amps than that. The important things are voltage in (220v), voltage out (110v), and output amps at least equal to, or greater than, what your printer requires. It would be safer to just buy a 220v printer.

If your 110v printer has a plug-in cable with a transformer unit built in to it, you may be able to buy a replacement plug-in cable with transformer unit in the country that has the 220v supply, but check before you buy that it is a suitable unit for your printer.
