Wireless stopped working on my laserjet p1102
I tried to print however my printer was showing offline.
I tried reinstalling but the printer could not find a network
I reset using the two buttons but no result. I put in the ssid but still could not find the network
Same thing on a couple of other computers I have. The blue light flashes but does not go solid
Installation just reverts to a usb connection. I have installed it quite a few time in the past with no problem
I am thinking that the wireless card is no longer working.
The card seems easy to get at but is it available.
It seems a pity to throw this peinter out as otherwise it is fine.
I may just live with the usb connection but if a card is available I could change it.
Unless there is some software fix i am missing?

Hi @brindai,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
The wireless card on your HP LaserJet Pro P1102w may be failing — especially if the blue Wi-Fi light never goes solid (even after resets), you've tried on multiple computers, and it no longer detects any Wi-Fi networks despite manually entering the SSID.
Below is a full breakdown of what you can try and your options if the Wi-Fi module has failed:
1. Try a Full Network Reset Again
Just in case the last one didn’t take:
- Power off the printer.
- Press and hold both the Wireless and Cancel buttons.
- Turn the printer back on while holding the buttons for 10–15 seconds.
- Release the buttons when the light blinks.
2. Connect via USB and Use HP Smart Setup
- Connect the printer via USB.
- Use the HP Smart app or HP Easy Start from support.hp.com to manually configure wireless settings.
- Choose “Wireless Setup” during installation and manually input your SSID and password.
If the software can’t detect any Wi-Fi networks again, this points strongly to hardware failure in the wireless card.
There are no firmware updates or hidden fixes that bypass the wireless card issue on the P1102w — it’s a very basic model. If the Wi-Fi module is malfunctioning, no software workaround will restore it.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hello thanks for the reply. Today I just turned on the printer with the usb not connected . I had to hit the wireless key to get the blue light flashing. On the off chance that it might do something I pressed the WPS button on my router and to my amazement the blue light went solid. I then went to my computer and saw that the usb printer was offline, however I selected add a printer and win 11 found the wireless printer, found files and installed it . and I then printed a test page. The wireless printer has a different name NP1377382 (laser jet pro P1102w) as against just Laser jet pro P1102w for the usb version. I tried all other solutions with the usb cable connected including uninstalling the software with no success. I typed in the ssid several times but the installation software could not find the network. It seems it had become "stuck" on the usb driver and would not budge. Anyway ,thankfully it seems to be now fixed.
