HP envy 6455e: unable to connect to wifi network after changing internet service provider.  Wireless printing worked fine before.  I've tried restarting router, printer.  Tried resetting wifi set up button on back of printer.  Any suggestions on how to get back to wireless printing?

Hi @Josh198,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I can imagine how frustrating it feels when everything worked perfectly before, and now, after switching your internet provider, the printer just won’t reconnect. Let’s get that smooth wireless printing back for your HP ENVY 6455e. Here’s what you can do:

Step-by-Step Fix for Wi-Fi Connection Issues

  1. Confirm Network Details
    • Make sure your new router is broadcasting on 2.4 GHz (HP printers often don’t support 5 GHz-only networks).
    • Check that the SSID (network name) and password are correct.

  2. Reset Printer’s Network Settings
    • On the printer, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button together for 5 seconds.
    • This will restore the printer’s network settings to default.

  3. Reconnect Using HP App
  4. Use WPS (If Supported by Router)
    • Press the WPS button on your router.
    • Within 2 minutes, press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until the light blinks.
    • The printer should connect automatically.

  5. Restart Everything
    • Power cycle your printer, router, and PC after setup to refresh connections.
