Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
Step 1: Restart All Devices
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Restart your Wi-Fi router.
- Restart your computer or mobile device.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
This clears temporary network or device errors
Step 2: Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi
- On the printer, press and hold the Wireless button until the Wireless light starts blinking.
- Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router.
- Wait for the Wireless light to stop blinking and turn solid blue.
This uses WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) to reconnect the printer.
Step 3: Check Printer Status on Your Device
On Windows:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer > See what's printing.
- Click Printer > Uncheck Use Printer Offline if selected.
On macOS:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click Open Print Queue.
- Resume or restart the printer if paused.

Still Not Working?
If the wireless light continues to blink and the printer remains offline:
- Perform a network reset on the printer:
- Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds.
- The printer will restart and reset its network settings.
- Reconnect using the HP Smart app or WPS method.
