Hi @jenivi19,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP DeskJet printer is not connecting to Wi-Fi, even after turning the printer and Wi-Fi off and on. Let’s go through steps to troubleshoot this issue.

Power cycle the printer and router

Turn off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds.

Restart your Wi-Fi router and wait until the network is fully online.

Turn the printer back on.

Reset the printer’s network settings

On the printer, go to Setup → Network Setup → Restore Network Defaults, or press and hold the Wi-Fi button for 10–15 seconds.

This clears any old Wi-Fi information and prepares the printer for a new connection.

Reconnect using HP Smart App

Open the HP Smart App on your computer or smartphone.

Select Add Printer → Wireless Setup, and follow prompts to connect the printer to your current Wi-Fi network.

Make sure the device running HP Smart is on the same Wi-Fi network.

Check Wi-Fi frequency

Some older DeskJet printers only connect to 2.4 GHz networks, not 5 GHz.

Ensure your Wi-Fi network is broadcasting 2.4 GHz and that your SSID does not contain special characters.

Temporary USB setup

If Wi-Fi setup continues to fail, connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable.

Use HP Smart to configure Wi-Fi via USB, then disconnect the USB cable once the connection is successful.

Check security settings

Temporarily disable firewalls, VPNs, or antivirus on your computer or phone during setup, as they can block printer discovery.

Test connection

Once connected, the Wi-Fi light should be solid.

Print a test page from HP Smart or your computer to confirm full functionality.

I hope this helps.
