I have lost wifi connection with my printer.  The wifi set up is not in setting menu as described.  How can I turn the wifi  back on?  I have already tried everything HP suggest and nothing works.  Also can not install firmware update.

Hi @KCV1985

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 All-in-One Printer is missing the wireless setup option from the touchscreen menu and you can't reconnect to Wi-Fi, you may need to perform some troubleshooting steps. Here is a comprehensive guide to help you restore Wi-Fi connectivity and update the firmware.

Reconnecting the Printer to Wi-Fi

Step 1: Restart the Printer

  1. Turn off your printer by pressing the power button.
  2. Unplug the printer from the power source.
  3. Wait for about 60 seconds.
  4. Plug in the printer and turn it back on.

Step 2: Enable Wireless Setup Mode

Restore Network Settings: This will enable the Wi-Fi setup option.

  • From the printer control panel:
    • Go to Setup or Settings.
    • Look for Network Setup or Network Settings.
    • Select Restore Network Settings.
  • Alternatively, restore network settings by resetting the wireless settings:
    • Touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard.
    • Touch the Wireless icon.
    • Touch Settings (gear icon).
    • Scroll down and select Network Setup.
    • Select Restore Network Settings.

After restoring network settings, check if the Wireless Setup option appears in the menu.

Step 3: Reconnect to Wi-Fi

  1. From the printer control panel:
    • Touch the Wireless icon to access the Wireless summary screen.
    • Go to Settings.
    • Select Wireless Setup Wizard.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to select your network and enter the password.

Updating Firmware Manually

If the firmware update isn't installing through automatic updates, you can try updating it manually.

Steps to Update Printer Firmware Manually

Download the Firmware:

Install the Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer is turned on.
  • Connect your printer to your computer using a USB cable if Wi-Fi is still not working.
  • Run the downloaded firmware update file and follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware.

Additional Troubleshooting

Step 1: Check Router Settings

  • Ensure your router is working correctly and that it supports the printer’s Wi-Fi standards (most commonly 2.4GHz network).

Step 2: Temporary Hard Reset

  • Printer Factory Reset: This step will restore the printer to its default settings, including network settings.
    • Turn off the printer.
    • Press and hold the Wi-Fi button and the Cancel button at the same time.
    • Turn on the printer while holding these buttons.
    • Release the buttons and wait for the printer to reset.
