@dm5704, Welcome to the HP Support Community – it’s great to have you here!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your question. I'm more than happy to assist with this and provide a solution that works for you.
If your HP printer’s Wireless Setup Wizard isn’t finding your Wi-Fi network, here are some steps to help resolve the issue:

Check Wi-Fi Network Visibility

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is broadcasting its SSID (network name). Hidden networks won’t appear in the setup wizard.
  • Try connecting another device (like a phone or laptop) to confirm the network is visible.

Printer Placement

  • Make sure the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
  • Avoid placing it near metal objects, microwaves, or thick walls that can interfere with signal.

Restart Devices

  • Power cycle your printer, router, and computer:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
    • Restart your router.
    • After 30 seconds, plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues.
  • Visit HP Support page and enter your printer model to check for updates.

Use HP Smart App (Alternative Setup)

  • Download the HP Smart app on your smartphone or PC. HP Smart
  • Use it to set up the printer wirelessly, it often works better than the built-in wizard.

Reset Network Settings on Printer

  • On the printer’s control panel:
    • Go to Settings > Network Settings > Restore Network Defaults.
    • Then re-run the Wireless Setup Wizard.

Router Settings to Check

  • Ensure your router is using 2.4 GHz band (some HP printers don’t support 5 GHz).
  • Disable MAC address filtering or access control temporarily.
  • Set Wi-Fi mode to mixed (e.g., b/g/n).

I hope your issue is now resolved. If not, feel free to reply and we’ll continue helping until everything’s sorted!
