I have been printing from my computer for years without any problem.  Now, whenever I pring, the "79 error" message appears on the printer.  I've tried turning the printer off and on again.    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!

See the following article from HP:

79 Error Turn off then on

The all-in-one has experienced an internal firmware error.

Turn off the power by using the power switch, wait at least 30 seconds, and then turn on the power and wait for the all-in-one to initialize.

If you have recently installed a memory DIMM in the HP LaserJet 3390/3392 all-in-one, turn off the all-in-one, remove the memory DIMM, reinstall the DIMM to verify that it is seated properly, and then turn on the all-in-one.

If a surge protector is being used, remove it. Plug the all-in-one directly into the wall socket. Use the power switch to turn the all-in-one on.

If the error persists, contact HP Customer Care.

Your printer may be bricked as a result of a firmware error, perhaps from an automatic update.  If so then it is likely more worth your time and money to safely recycle this printer and purchase a new one than to attempt repairing the firmware problem with a new formatter board.
