When I try to print images or photos, printer takes cardstock and photopaper, the ink cartridge slides left to right, but images do not appear on paper.  It does print on regular bond paper and bright white paper.

Hi @MacDonnell,

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums!

I see that you're unable to print on cardstock or photo paper on your HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer. I would be happy to look into this with you and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution', if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue. If you wish to say 'thanks' for my effort to help, click the 'thumbs up' to give me a Kudos.

Change the paper type and quality settings

  1. In the software program that you are trying to print from, click File, and then click Print.
  2. Select the Paper Type/Quality or Media & Quality menu.
  3. Review the following options, and then make any necessary changes.
  4. Paper type or Media type: If one of the options matches your paper type exactly, select that option
  5. Quality: If you are dissatisfied with the quality of your printouts, increase the print quality. To print more quickly, decrease the print quality.
  6. In the Paper Type/Quality or Media & Quality menu, click Color Options, if it is available.
  7. If you want color printouts, make sure that ColorSmart/sRGB is selected.
  8. If the option is not available, continue to the next step.
  9. Click Print to try the print job again.
  10. Optional: To save these settings for future print jobs, follow these steps.
  11. In the Presets menu, click Save As, name the new preset, and then click OK.
