The following DID NOT WORK:

4. Choose desired Drive letter, and then enter \\192.168.1.101\USB in the folder

Please let me know when HP create a firmware update to fix this problem.

Don't let Epson Beat you guys on this one.

Thanks

Did anything happen on this issue?

I can only support this feature request as it is a "low-hanging fruit", which can be done via a software update.

Having a webserver- or windows-filesharing("Samba")-based access to scanned documents is like a standard on modern office printer environments.

Ialready caught myself in thinking about to tape a Raspberry Pi to the printer as a "default network-storage", running its own webserver -- but the pity is that we're using this printer on events so the network-environment will change from event to event and re-configuring a "rasperry-sink" on all three ends (printer, raspberry, users) won't be practical.

Please, come on hp: I really like your products in technical terms but you can not allow that I am thinking about "raspberry", "switch", "duct tape" and "LaserJet Pro" within the same sentence! *If* you get your team working on this another idea within this mechanics would be: "Upload a PDF to the integrated webserver for printing." I've seen that on your competitor's devices, too.

Let me please add one thought on this: Another plus-side would be: No driver-installation-hazzle for anyone!

Just tell people: "Go to the website of your printer and you can download your scan!"

You know the sad part about this issue is this. I posted the original problem in 2015. From the engineering and programming point of view, since the USB circuitry is obviously available to the firmware (since it can scan and save onto the thumb drive), it wouldn't take much to make a firmware update adding a networking SAP.

Here we are, two years later and HP cannot produce (or care enough) a firmware update to one of their most popular printer. What a shame.

They have forgotten about this issue or no one cares. Two years later and they can't come up with a firmware upgrade to fix this issue (or perhaps they did but no one tells us)
