All In One 5525 Won't print black

The blank ink isn't prining after several cleanings, resetting the alignment, rebooting, and reloading with new ink cartridges. Since there is no lever that will release the carriage, what more can I do to fix the problem? The vent is not clogged, the sponge

As this is a 5525 model I would advise calling HP Phone Support, even if the printer is out of warranty. See link below....

I tried all sorts to make it work - installed 2 brand new genuine HP cartridges but still wont work.  Printer is out of warranty.  I now have 2 black cartridges (packs opened so can't return to the shop).  Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for your reply, already tried all of these but no luck.  Really could have done without having to buy a new printer/scanner and wasting 2 brand new cartridges at £25 a pop... I feel let down by HP 😞
