Hey @Sheshetta,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand the output tray on your Envy 5540 e-All-in-One Printer does not extend. I can help you with that.
What is most likely happening is the tray's lock is set. To change this, remove the paper covering/tray from the printer and turn it over. You should see a grey lever with a lock and unlock symbol beside it. Make sure the lever is pushed towards the unlock symbol.

If it is not extending, that suggests mechanical failure. I suggest contacting HP Support directly by clicking on this link and filling out the form at the bottom to see what troubleshooting steps or options they have available depending on your warranty.
