Hi vastins

There are a couple of things you can try to solve these issues, check out the links below for details...

Hi PugMan

I appreciate this is a long thread with a lot of people experiencing similar issues on a number of different printers, but I was just replying to the post from vastins, as per the recent post concerning the 8500 AiO

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I bought a 8500 all in one and should have returned it to the store.  But, I didn't and now I'm stuck with a piece of junk that doesn't pull the paper through, sometimes pulls a paper through for no reason, only prints the upper half of the last sentence on the page, and the ink prints too lightly in some areas.  Each one in itself isn't bad, until they happen over and over again; day after day.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a separate note, I am trying to follow up on the topic of bottom border printing problems, and if there's anything I can help with I'll certainly post more details.

Kind Regards, Ciara

Hello Ciara,

Thank you so much for responding to my posting.

Since my original post, I have spoked to an HP rep and was sent a new printer along with NEW printheads.  This corrected the printing problems I had!  Unfortunately, the paper pickup is still an issue.  It's like the pickup arm doesn't always meet the paper.

I will follow up with the rep on this problem.

Thanks again for helping!!

Hi vastins

You're welcome! 🙂

You say the issue with paper pick is still happening on the new printer? Have you checked the specs on the paper you're using?

what problem do you claim to be solving?  what/where is any real life technologies option?

I have an HP Photosmart C7280. I have Duplexing set as a default feature (to save paper). No matter what I set the bottom margin to 1" or .75" the footer does not print in Duplex mode (even if it is just 1 page). IF I turn off Duplex then it does print. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem? I tried following the Perfect Solution listed above but there is NO setting for 'Real Life Technologies.'

I have solved the problem for my C309a.

The problem I had was the document wouldn't print the footer from page 3 and page 7 of a Word2007 document. This occured both on a Win7 and a WinXP machine. The document would print fine on a Brother Laser Printer though.

The fix:

  1. Start>Printers and Faxes (WinXP) or Devices and Printers (Win7)
  2. Right click the HP Printer that you will soon throw off a cliff and replace with a proper one (humour)
  3. Select "Properties" in WinXP or "Printer Properties" in Win7
  4. Under the "General " tab, select "Printing Preferences" in WinXP or "Preferences" in Win7
  5. Under the "Features" tab>Resizing Options, Ensure that the "Print to actual size" button is selected and that the page size is the same as thepage size that you are using to print on.

In my case, I was printing on an A4 sheet but the resizing size was "Letter" size. When it was changed to A4, all went well.

You can thank me in beer.

And to HP, maybe you vcan {Content Removed} actually find a solution to the crappy software and hardware you manufacture and not leave it up to the consumer to do YOUR work for you.

Hi,

I have been messing about like most people trying to get my Officejet 4500 to print to the bottom of A4 paper.   After messing about for ages, I found this to work and it now prints my footer exactly where it should be...at the foot of the page.

file>print>page setup>paper = custom .....adjust height to 30 cms and save.   Set as default if required.

I hope this works for you too.

cheers Neil

I too had the problem.  I noticed that it either doesn't print the bottom border or cuts the last line in half.  I t did both of these things randomly.  I went through a lot of ink and paper trying to solve the problem.  I also tried all the solutions that were mentioned on this forum, including updating the drivers.  I finally solved the problem by buying an Epson Aritsan 837, and never had the problem again.
