Double check the Scan-to-Email settings (Scan to Email Wizard) to ensure:
- Mail program is installed on the computer (Outlook, Thunderbird, other "installed" program / client)
- Email address to be used includes the UserID and login password necessary to access your email account
- Mail program, if using "POP" (or iMap) includes the correct SMTP settings

Excellent, concise help from ShlomiL:
Office Jet 8610 - Username or password is incorrect
If you have already adjusted the Scan-to-Email settings (Scan to Email Wizard) and that the mail program you are using is an installed application / program on the computer (as opposed to trying to use your Web-based email login),
Check your email login -- if engaged, disable "two step verification" login
If "two step verification" is engaged (enabled) and you do not wish to disable the feature, create a separate email address for the sole purpose of using Scan-to-Email (and do not set up the two-step login).

Hi,
Apologies for jumping in, the described behavior occuor due to your printer settings for Digital Scanning to Email configuration.
Swipe your finger from the top of the printer screen to the bottom and tap the WiFi or the Ethernet icon, then locate your printer's IP address.
Browse this IP from your computer to access its homepage.
Open the Scan tab.
Under Scan to Email click on Scan to Email settings or Outgoing Email Profile.
Locate the Sender drop down menu and change it to blank, the other option require logging into the printer and therefore the requirement to sign in.
Apply the changes and try scanning to email from the front panel again.
Shlomi

You are welcome @DTS2017,
What email service do you trying to set?
What are the results when you press the Test button within the same page of the printer homepage?

ShlomiL,
My internet provider is Comcast. I'm not at home right now, but if I remember correctly on the printer it was saying can't connect to servcer and on the computer it was saying that the name and address was incorrect (I think), I would have to check for sure when I get home.
